CAF&PD orders advance lifting, distribution of NFSA rice

All NFSA beneficiaries are advised to collect their entitled ration for August, September and October, 2026 in advance from their respective Fair Price Shops (FPSs).

The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Government of Manipur, has issued a circular regarding the advance lifting and distribution of foodgrains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to beneficiaries for the months of August, September and October, 2026, in compliance with a letter issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India.

Advance lifting, completion deadline

According to the circular, all concerned District Authorities have been directed to ensure advance lifting of rice allocated under NFSA for the months of August, September and October, 2026, and complete its lifting and distribution on or before August 31, 2026. They have also been instructed to submit the required indent immediately to facilitate timely release and lifting of stocks.

Ration in advance

The circular further requests all NFSA beneficiaries to collect their entitled ration for August, September and October, 2026 in advance from their respective Fair Price Shops (FPSs), so that all eligible beneficiaries receive their entitled foodgrains by the stipulated deadline.

Instructions to FCI

Further, the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Imphal, has been instructed to ensure adequate availability of rice stocks at all depots for advance lifting. It has also been asked to coordinate with district authorities for smooth lifting operations, and make adequate labour and loading arrangements to ensure timely lifting of foodgrains.

Monitoring, progress reports

The Directorate has also directed all concerned District Authorities to closely monitor the advance lifting and distribution process, ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of entitled foodgrains, and submit the advance lifting and distribution progress reports on a regular basis. Any issues requiring intervention are to be brought to the notice of the Directorate immediately, the circular added.
