The Ukhrul district administration has announced a strict deadline for NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination candidates requiring security arrangements, urging all students to register at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on or before June 19, 2026— two days before the examination scheduled for June 21.
Security Registration
In a notice issued on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya stated that candidates from Ukhrul district appearing for the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination and requiring security arrangements for their movement and participation must report and register at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul. The order set June 19 as deadline to enable the District Administration to make necessary security arrangements before the examination date.
Help Desk
All concerned candidates can contact the help desk located at Room No. 204, 1st floor, DC Office, Ukhrul for further assistance and coordination. The administration has designated two officials to handle security registration queries: Dharmachand Siro: 96124-84514 and Diamond Jajo: 96124-96524.
The help desk will assist candidates with registration procedures and coordinate security arrangements for their travel to and from examination centres.
NEET exam schedule
The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026, across 17 centres in Imphal East, Imphal West, Churachandpur, and Chandel. Candidates from Ukhrul district traveling to Imphal examination centres will require security coordination due to prevailing law-and-order concerns in the state.
ANSAM’s plea
The district administration’s prompt notice comes after All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM) submitted a representation to CM Y Khemchand Singh, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and other authorities on Wednesday, appealing for provision of security to candidates during travel, particularly for candidates coming from outlying districts who must navigate potentially sensitive routes to reach their examination centres in Imphal.
Govt’s response
Subsequently, Joint Secretary Elangbam Sonia, under the Higher and Technical Education Department, sent the letter to the Director General of Police the same and urged that the matter be accorded top priority given the critical nature of the national examination.
